Temporary or permanent adjustments to enhance recovery are defined and discussed. Examples of ergonomic recommendations include indications for proper lifting and carrying the dog, a chest harness instead of a collar in neck patients, and creating adjustments in the environment, such as a step, ramp or antiskid mats.
